New Branch of “Study In” Officially Opened in Jaffna

A new branch of the “Study In” institution was officially inaugurated this morning – on Friday, (08 May 2026), with the aim of expanding higher education opportunities in Jaffna.

The Governor of the Northern Province, Hon. N. Vethanayahan, attended the event as the chief guest and ceremonially declared the new office open by cutting the ribbon.

In his congratulatory address at the event, the Governor stated:

“For the people of our province, education is the greatest form of capital. Our people continuously strive to achieve the highest standards in education. In such a context, it is indeed a significant development that the ‘Study In’ institution has commenced its services in Jaffna.

Today, higher education has become an essential requirement of the times. Although many educational institutions operate in our region, my expectation is that this institution will become an easily accessible and reliable source of higher education guidance for students. The arrival of institutions such as this is a healthy development that will help students from our soil continue their higher studies without obstacles.”

At the beginning of the event, Kajamugan, Operations Head (Northern and Eastern Regions) of “Study In,” delivered the welcome address and explained the institution’s objectives as well as the special services offered to students. He further noted that the institution would work to fulfill the international higher education aspirations of students from the Northern region by directly connecting them with international universities.

The stage events that followed commenced with a blessing delivered by a Reverend Father. Dr. Aaru Thirumurugan, Jaffna District Secretary M. Piiratheepan, and the Mayoress of the Jaffna Municipal Council also attended as special guests and addressed the gathering.

Among those present at the event were Chandramouli Laleesan, Principal of the Kopay Teachers’ Training College, Study In directors Rizmi Mohamed and Rizwan, along with several key officials of the institution.
