The contribution of a college’s community is extremely important for its growth. In this regard, Chavakachcheri Hindu College is fortunate to have an outstanding alumni community. It is through the immeasurable contributions of these alumni that the college has achieved significant progress both in education and in physical infrastructure, said the Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan.
The foundation stone laying ceremony for a new three-storey building complex with 30 classrooms at Chavakachcheri Hindu College was held today (09 April 2026) – on Thursday afternoon, within the school premises under the leadership of the school principal, N. Sarveswaran. The Hon. Governor, who attended as the chief guest, along with other distinguished guests, jointly laid the foundation stone for the new building.
Further addressing the gathering, the Hon. Governor stated:
Just as human resources are crucial to the development of a school, physical resources are equally necessary. The true progress of a school depends on the full support of its school community.
It is highly commendable that many alumni of this school have come together to initiate the construction of this new classroom building complex. The construction work will be carried out in three phases. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all the alumni who have made this remarkable contribution.
In fact, the strong enthusiasm and perseverance of the alumni are the key reasons behind the realization of this grand building project. I firmly believe that all these construction works will be completed very soon and that the building will be inaugurated in the near future. May God grant His support, he said.
The event was attended by the Secretary of the Provincial Ministry of Education of Northern Province, the Divisional Secretary of Chavakachcheri, the Zonal Director of Education for Thenmaradchi, the Chairman of the Chavakachcheri Urban Council, alumni, teachers, students, and well-wishers.
