As we celebrate the 78th Independence Day of Sri Lanka, I extend my Independence Day greetings to all the people of the Northern Province.
Independence is not merely a ceremonial occasion to recall the past; it is also an opportunity for us to shape our future. This is a moment to renew our commitment to building a nation rooted in unity, peace, and prosperity, transcending differences of ethnicity, religion, and language.
The Northern Province holds a very important place in the history of the country as well as in its future development. The prosperity of the North is inseparably linked to the prosperity of the entire nation. Therefore, it is our collective responsibility to enhance the quality of life of every citizen living in the Northern Province, while ensuring dignified livelihoods and equal rights for them.
With honest governance, a corruption-free public service, and a development-oriented journey, our country has begun to move along a new path. Through this transformation, let us all unite and join hands to guide the Northern Province along the path of development as well.
Independence Day greetings to all!
Governor,
Northern Province.
