Governor meets Indian High Commissioner

Governor of Northern Province Dr. Suren Raghavan paid a courtesy call on Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Taranjit Singh Sandhu on 17th February 2019 at his official residence ‘India House’ which is located in Colombo 3.

The Governor who visited the India House was enthusiastically welcomed by Indian High Commissioner. In order to commemorate this visit, the Governor presented a Naga tree to the High Commissioner.

The projects and assistance schemes implemented by the Indian government in the Northern Province was discussed in details. The plans to be implemented in the future were also discussed.

Indian High Commissioner assured that as of now, the assistance of the Indian Government to the province will continue in the future too.

On behalf of the President Maithripala Sirisena, Government of Sri Lanka, and the people of Northern Province, Governor expressed his gratitude to the Government of India for the projects being implemented in Northern Province
