A discussion was held with the aim of establishing a unified general framework for the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Northern Province.

While various registered Chambers of Commerce and Industry are currently active in the Northern Province, a discussion to create a unified general framework for them was held on Friday – 14 November 2025, at the Governor’s Secretariat, under the chairmanship of Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan.

In his opening remarks, the Governor emphasized the need to establish a unified general framework for the Northern Province. He noted that this framework would play a key role in strengthening coordination between the provincial administration and the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, as well as in creating a platform for collaborative action.

Representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry already functioning in the North welcomed the establishment of this general framework unanimously and also presented their recommendations for its implementation.

It was decided that, once the necessary documents related to formalizing this structure are prepared, another discussion will be held at the end of this month.

Additionally, if any registered Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Northern Province wish to join this general framework, they may send their information to the Governor’s Secretariat via the email npcgovernor@gmail.com or the official WhatsApp number of the Governor’s Secretariat 070 233 3222 before 24 November 2025.
