The General Certificate of Education (G.C.E.) Advanced Level Examination will commence tomorrow – on Monday, 10th November 2025. On this occasion, the Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan, extends his best wishes to all students appearing for the examination.
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all students who will be appearing for the General Certificate of Education (G.C.E.) Advanced Level Examination.
Throughout the history of our society, education has stood as an enduring and invaluable asset, cherished across generations. Regardless of the challenges our people have faced, they have always upheld education as the most reliable path to progress and empowerment. You, who are preparing to face this important examination, are the proud heirs of that noble tradition.
The Advanced Level Examination is not merely a test of intellectual ability; it is also a measure of your dedication, discipline, perseverance under pressure, and determination to achieve your goals. I commend you for the hard work, commitment, and self-confidence you have demonstrated over an extended period of preparation.
At the national level, students from the Northern Province have consistently distinguished themselves through outstanding achievements. I am confident that this year, too, you will continue that proud legacy and reach even greater heights in your pursuit of excellence.
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of your teachers and parents in shaping your achievements. Their unwavering support, guidance, and dedication form the true foundation of your success.
As you face this important examination, remain calm, focused, and confident in your preparation and abilities. May your hard work be rewarded with the success you deserve.

A total of 17,466 candidates — comprising 14,217 school candidates and 3,249 private candidates — will sit for the examination from the Northern Province. For this purpose, 147 examination centres have been established across the province.
