It is noteworthy that the livelihood assistance schemes for women-headed households and women entrepreneurs, provided by the Northern Provincial Ministry of Women’s Affairs, took place on 17th October 2025 at the Office of the Assistant Commissioner of Cooperative Development, Kilinochchi District.
The event was presided over by the Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. M. Nanthagopalan, and was successfully graced by the participation of Hon. Ramalingam Chandrasekharar, Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic Resources, and Marine Resources and Chairman of the Jaffna and Kilinochchi District Co-ordinating Committees.
At this event, livelihood assistance schemes were distributed to the 46 selected beneficiaries in Kilinochchi District, including sewing machines, water pumping motors, freezers, goat rearing assistance, and equipment related to food production, to support women entrepreneurs.
Also, the Assistant Secretary of the Northern Provincial Ministry of Women’s Affairs, the Accountant of the Northern Provincial Ministry of Women’s Affairs, divisional secretariat officials, and other officials of the Ministry attended and enhanced the event.
