A discussion between the Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan, and members of the Ceylon Tamil Teachers’ Association took place today – on Tuesday 21st October 2025, at the Governor’s Secretariat.
During the meeting, the Ceylon Tamil Teachers’ Association presented a proposal concerning the development of education in the Northern Province to the Governor.
In addition, discussions were held regarding the regularization of the teaching service. The Association pointed out that the lack of updated data on teachers with the relevant authorities has caused several administrative issues. Various matters related to recent teacher transfers were also discussed.
