“The impact assessment of projects implemented this year must be carried out next year, without fail,” – Hon. Governor.

The Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan, advised that the 2026 development plans should be prepared in consultation with the people and implemented accordingly.

A monthly review meeting to assess the financial and physical progress of projects implemented this year under the Ministry of Health, Indigenous Medicine, Probation, and Child Care Services of Northern Province was held on Thursday evening (25.09.2025) at the Governor’s Secretariat.

In his opening remarks, the Governor emphasized that an impact assessment of the projects implemented this year must be conducted without fail in the coming year. He further noted that while departments continue to request new buildings, many existing facilities remain unused. The Governor stressed that such situations should be avoided in the future.

Subsequently, the issues faced by each department under the Ministry were reviewed in detail.

Following this, the report on the special public health project implemented in Delft was officially handed over to the Governor. The challenges encountered during the implementation of the project were also discussed.

The discussion was attended by the Chief Secretary of the Northern Province, the Secretary to the Governor of Northern Province, the Secretary of the Ministry of Health – Northern Province, the Deputy Chief Secretary – Finance, the Deputy Chief Secretary – Planning, the Director of the Provincial Buildings Department, the Provincial Director of Health Services, the Provincial Commissioner of the Department of Indigenous Medicine, the Commissioner of the Department of Child Care Services and the Regional Directors of Health Services.
