Under the Provincial Specific Development Grant red onion Seed Production program in this year, in Kilinochchi district. Currently, the crop has reached the harvest stage, and the Field Day event has been organized.
The event was held at the Mulankavil Agriculture Instructor Range on 26.08.2025 at 09.00 am under the leadership of Agriculture Instructor Mr. J. Pradeep, and at the Ambalkulam Agriculture Instructor Range on 04.09.2025 at 09.00 am under the leadership of Agriculture Instructor Mr. S. Selvanoyilin.
Mrs.S.Vijayathasan, Deputy Director of Agriculture, Kilinochchi graced the event as the chief guest. Subject Mater Officers, Agricultural Instructors, Technical Assistants, farmers and welwishers participated and celebrated.
Farmers enthusiastically observed improved cultivation practices such as onion production through true seeds, onion cultivation under drip irrigation, and onion cultivation on raised beds.
