Input Distribution Event under the Provincial Specific Development Grant – 2025

An input distribution event under the Provincial Specified Development Grant aimed at improving the livelihood of farmers in Kilinochchi District was held on Wednesday, 10th September 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the office of the Deputy Director of Agriculture, under the leadership of Mrs. S. Vijayathasan, Deputy Director of Agriculture, Kilinochchi.

Mr. S. Muralitharan, Government Agent of Kilinochchi, graced the event as the Chief Guest, and Mr. S. Sivasri, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture (NP), participated as the Special Guest. In addition, Mr. T. Yogeswaran, Additional Provincial Director of Agriculture (NP), Mr. S. Piratheepan, Accountant, Provincial Department of Agriculture (NP), subject matter officers, agriculture instructors, technical assistant, staff of the Deputy Director’s office, and farmers in the event.

Addressing the gathering, the guests emphasized that farmers should not only continue to make use of the inputs provided through these projects but also try to improve their livelihoods, advance agricultural activities in the district, and contribute to the development of the Northern Province. They further urged farmers not to abandon cultivation but to remain continuously engaged in farming.

This event concluded successfully with a vote of thanks after inputs were distributed to paddy farmers, Other Field Crops cultivation farmers, home gardeners, and value-added producers.
