To promote the theme of ‘Clean Sri Lanka’, the project is being implemented in Jaffna during the Nallur Kandasamy Temple Annual Festival under the theme ‘To heartly Jaffna’.
As part of this project, an awareness workshop for journalists from Jaffna District and students of Media Studies of the University of Jaffna was held today, Thursday (14.08.2025) at the Northern Provincial Council Secretariat Auditorium in Kaithady.
The workshop was inaugurated by the Chief Secretary of the Northern Province, Mrs. Thanuja Murugesan, the Deputy Chief Secretary – Personnel and Training, Mr. S. Pranavanathan, and the Assistant Chief Secretary, Mrs. Annet Ninthusa Anthony Dines. The Chief Secretary explained the purpose of the Clean Sri Lanka Project.
Following this, the awareness workshop for journalists was conducted by the Senior Assistant Secretary to the President, Mrs. Sarathanjali Manoharan.
The workshop was attended by the Assistant Director (Media) of the Presidential Secretariat’s Clean Sri Lanka Project, Mr. Nishantha Alwis, the Media Secretary to the Governor of the Northern Province, K. Dileep Amuthan, journalists from the Jaffna District, and students of the University of Jaffna Media Studies.
