The meeting with the Northern Province Governor and the Secretaries and Heads of Departments of the Line Ministries and Departments was held on 31 January 2018 at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo. Governor of Northern Province Dr. Suren Raghavan presided at the meeting.
The Governor pointed out to the officials that Northern Province is far behind in development because it was the province affected worst by the war. He requested that everyone should come forward by giving priority to work on the development projects in the Northern Province under the direct supervision of the Line Ministries.
It was also focused on the possible mechanisms to work with the Ministries and Departments of the Northern Provincial Council along with the Line Ministries. When joining both the Central and the Provincial parties, it is possible to provide fast and efficient development to the public.
