Under the aforementioned program, Mechanical Organic Fertilizer Manufacturing Centre Which was built at Mulli, Karaveddy, Vadamaradchy under the patronage of His Excellency President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Hon. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa with the great intention of transforming the Jaffna/Vadamaradchy and their surroundings as Zero waste cities was declared open on 27th of June 2021 by Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports and State Minister of Digital Technology and Entrepreneur Development Hon. Namal Rajapaksa.
Governor of the Northern Province Hon. Mrs.P.S.M Charles, State Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Affairs Hon.Roshan Ranasinghe, Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government Hon. Janaka Bandara Tennakoon, Deputy Chairperson of Parliamentary Committees and co-Chairman of District Development Coordinating Committee Angajan Ramanathan, Parliamentarians of the Jaffna district, and Members of Vadamarachy Pradeshiya Sabha were also present at the ceremony.
Following that, Hon. Governor declared open the building block of the Thaiyeddy Water Supply scheme, and planted a tree, after the visit to the newly opened Palay North Government Tamil Mixed School.
In addition to that, Hon. Governor overviewed J/Central College and Visited the Jaffna Cultural Centre as well on that day.
