The residents of Thunukkai in the Mullaitivu District have submitted a request to the Governor of Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan, seeking protection from elephant theat. The request was handed over during a site visit conducted by the Governor alongside Member of Parliament M. Jegatheewaran.
During the visit, the Governor personally inspected the road access renovation for the Thunukkai Thenniyan Tank, key infrastructure facilities, and the teacher shortages at schools in Iyankankulam, Therankandal, and Yogapuram.
Furthermore, after hearing grievances regarding the Iyankankulam Primary Medical Care Unit and the Mallavi Base Hospital, he held detailed discussions with departmental officials on local agricultural and rural infrastructure needs, including issues related to the paddy drying yard and cemetery.
