Governor paid sudden monitoring visits to some schools in Kilinochchi District

Governor of the Northern Province, Dr. Suren Raghavan, orchestrated an impromptu visit on the 27th of February 2019 to assess the ongoing operations within various schools nestled in Kilinochchi district. This endeavor followed a recent financial aid injection of 31.5 million rupees, graciously granted by President Maithripala Sirisena, at the behest of the Governor. The sum was allocated to mend the damage incurred by floods in 11 schools across Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu districts.

Of the assigned funds, the renovation efforts are currently underway in 8 schools within the Mullaitivu district and 3 schools in Kilinochchi. With a keen eye on progress, the Governor personally scrutinized the status of the initiatives, making poignant stops at the Murugananda Primary School and St. Antony’s Roman Catholic Schools.

His interaction with the students, principals, and teachers during these visits unveiled crucial insights into their pressing requisites, further strengthening the resolve to cater to their educational needs.
