The Governor of Northern Province, Hon. N. Vethanayahan, instructed the relevant officials to ensure the efficient delivery of sources and administrative supports for the continued IVF service provided at Kilinochchi General Hospital with completely free of charge. The special discussion in relevant to this was held today (08.10.2026) at the Governor’s Secretariat under the chair of Hon. Governor.
Medical specialist S. Raguram updated the progress on this service, provided jointly with the Medical Faculty of University of Jaffna. “Providing free IVF service in Sri Lankan government hospital is merely not a medical service; it is about future hope of a family”. Therefore, the Governor emphasized the necessity of ensuring the quality and continuation of this service.
The discussion was attended by the Secretary to the Governor, Provincial Director of Health Service, Medical Superintendent of Kilinochchi Hospital, Accountants and other officials.
