The Chief Secretary’s Secretariat of Northern Province and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) jointly organized a four-day training programme on “Results-Based Management (RBM) for inclusive social development” in Jaffna from 26th to 29th June 2019.
The objectives of the workshop are to enhance knowledge and skills for inclusive Results-Based Management and to develop an Action Plan for the institutionalization of RBM at the provincial level.
UNICEF facilitated this training together with the provincial resources and their global master trainer cum resource person.
The Chief Secretary of Northern Province and Deputy Chief Secretary – Planning of Northern Province gave their full support to this workshop as it is a priority and essential theme to improve the performance in all sectors to achieve the SDG global targets.
The participants were drawn from all five districts of Northern Province. At the end of the training, the participants felt that this was a practical application and created a popular demand. In the future, the province will include this aspect also as a part of the institutionalization and ensure to achieve better outcomes utilizing the limited resources for the people who are left behind.
Chief Secretary A.Pathinathan, Deputy Chief Secretary- Planning R.Umakanthan joined in the last day event to award the certificates. They thanked Unicef for bringing such an excellent training opportunity to the province.
