An event of providing tools and equipment and incentives to those who have successfully completed the Skill Development Training programme (NVQ Level 3) was held at the Cultural Hall of Kaithady Elders’ Home on 12th March 2019.
The event was hosted by Provincial Director of Industries K.Srimohanan under the guidance and advice of the Chief Secretary of Northern Province A.Pathinathan and under the recommendation of the Secretary of Provincial Ministry of Women Affairs Mrs Rubini Varathalingam. Deputy Chief Secretary of Administration Mrs S.Mohanathan graced the event as the chief guest. Accountant of Women’s Affairs Ministry S.Vishnukumar, Assistant Director of Vocational Training Authority, Jaffna District K.Niranjan and Accountant of Department of Industries S.Kandeepan participated as special guests. The staff of the Department of Industries and Vocational Training Authority also participated in this event.
160 trainees have successfully completed this vocational training programme which was conducted by Vocational Training Authority under the financial support received from the PSDG of Provincial Department of Industries. Tool sets & Equipment and incentives were distributed to them. 80 students of them received equipment worth Rs. 40,000.00 each for their self-employment. Another 80 students received cheque worth Rs. 10,000.00 each.
