The Kilinochchi District Coordinating Committee meeting was held at the District Secretariat Capacity Development Hall.

The Kilinochchi District Coordinating Committee meeting was conducted today – on Thursday 06th November 2025, at the District Secretariat Capacity Development Hall, with the participation of the Hon. Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic Resources and Marine Affairs, and Chairman of the Coordinating Committee, R. Chandrasekar, along with the Hon. Governor of the Northern Province and Co-Chairman, N. Vethanayahan.

The meeting commenced with a welcome address by the Kilinochchi District Secretary, Mr. S. Muralitharan. This was followed by the opening remarks of the Committee Chairman. Subsequently, in his address, the Co-Chairman and Governor stated that, with only six weeks remaining for the end of the year, all departments should cooperate to efficiently utilize and complete the allocated funds. He further mentioned that the Northern Provincial Council is expected to begin implementing the 2026 development projects as early as January, and he urged all departments to extend the same level of cooperation in the coming year as they have in this one.

Following this, the projects submitted for the approval of the District Coordinating Committee were reviewed. Matters discussed in the Divisional Coordinating Committee meetings that required consideration at the District level were also presented. Additionally, the progress of issues discussed in the previous Coordinating Committee meeting was examined. Various other matters were deliberated during the session.

Hon. Members of Parliament K. Ilankumaran, S. Sritharan, and J. Rajeevan participated, along with Hon. Chairmen of Local Authorities, Secretaries of Northern Provincial Ministries, Heads of Departments, representatives of public organizations, and security officials.
