Pursuant to the recommendation given by the Honorable Governor P.S.M. Charles to ban the activities of the Elders home operating without any permission in Valvettithurai, Jaffna, the Secretary of the Governor has issued a letter to the Divional Secretary of Point Pedro.
Also, it has been advised to take appropriate legal action regarding the operation of Valvai Elders home without any facilities and without registration.
In relation to Valvai Elders Home, a complaint was received by “Abayam” 24 hour Grievance Network under the direct supervision of the Honorable Governor of Northern Province. Regarding this complaint, the field visit report received from the Divisional Secretary of Point Pedro was submitted to the Honorable Governor. After investigating the issues, the Honorable Governor of the Northern Province has instructed to take immediate action regarding the Elders home and submit a report.
