The event for the commencement of the work for the year 2023 was held under the patronage of the Chief Secretary of Northern Province, Mr.S.M. Saman Bandulasena on the 02 January 2023, Monday at the premises of the Chief Secretary’s Secretariat at 9.00 am with the presence of Secretary of Ministry of Local Government, Deputy Chief Secretaries, Chief Internal Audit, Commissioners of Department of Motor Traffic and Department of Revenue, Staff Grade Officers and the Officers of other Ministries and Departments.
The Chief Secretary of Northern Province hoisted the National Flag and the Secretary of Ministry of Local Government, NP hoisted the Provincial flag also the national anthem was played. Following the two minutes of silent observation, the oath was taken by all the officers on the purpose of accepting the oath and affirmation of Public Service.
After that, participants were welcomed to the Auditorium of the Chief Secretary’s Secretariat. Chief Secretary pointed out in his speech that every activity which we do will reach our children in future and he further mentioned about the activities to be done regarding the food Security in the Public Services and he emphasized that it is better to engage in the activities on the purpose of helping to needy people in the rural level, and he indicated that the expenses will reduce and the income will also increase when the existing sources are only used by us. At last, he wished every officer for the New year 2023.
Finally, a vote of thanks was given by the Assistant Chief Secretary and he added her heartiest wishes for the New Year 2023
