The Awarding Ceremony, organized by the Committee on Public Accounts was held on Tuesday, 18th of July 2023, in the Committee Room No. 01 of the Parliament at 11.15am.
On the basis of high performance level of the institutions in the fiscal year 2019 and 2020 according to the reports of the Committee on Public Accounts, the Awarding Ceremony was held under the patronage of the His Excellency, Ranil Wickramasinghe and participation of the Price Minister, the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Opposition leader, Prime Minister’s Secretary, Secretary of Ministry of Finance, Auditor General Ministries’ Secretaries and Heads of Department s also graced the event.
Accordingly, thirteen Departments were selected from Northern Province and altogether twenty two awards were presented for them. Among them, six (6) gold awards and four (4) silver awards for the year of 2019, and eight (8) gold awards and four (4) silver awards for the year of 2020 were presented.
Further, it is noted that more than 1000 institutions including Ministries, Departments and institutions under the Provincial Council and Local Authorities joined the Awarding Ceremony through zoom technology.
