As a part of the Agriculture promotion program a special program on Mango pruning was conducted on 04 April 2019 at Muruganoor under the chairmanship of Assistant director of Agriculture Mrs.S. Jegatheeswary. Field Instruction of pruning practice was carried out by Subject matter officer, Horticulture. Pruning in mainly carried out to remove diseased or dead wood, open the canopy and to maintain the height of plant in an accessible height. Opening up the canopy will allow light penetration in to the central part of the tree results in reduced pest attackers well as it enhances flowering and fruit quality. Around 30 farmers residing nearby participated on this training program.
