‘Sivamayam 2025’ event held in Oddusuddan Thanthontri Easwarar Temple.

Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan, commended and congratulated the efforts to preserve and pass on our traditional arts to the next generation, even while living in the diaspora.

The Sivamayam 2025 event, featuring cultural performances by students of the Nrithya Sangeetha Academy in Britain, was held on Tuesday evening (29.07.2025) at the temple premises, organized by the Oddusuddan Thanthontri Easwarar Temple Management Board.

The event, chaired by its founder, Smt. Radhika Rajaloganathan, was graced by the Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, Nagalingam Vethanayahan, as the Chief Guest. Mullaitivu District Secretary A. Umamageswaran served as the Guest of Honour, while Oddusuddan Divisional Secretary R. Nishanthan attended as the Special Guest.

The guests’ speeches were followed by music and dance performances of the Academy’s students who were born and raised in Britain.

In his address as Chief Guest, the Governor highly commended the well organized and beautifully staged performances. He praised the organizers for presenting devotional songs and dances within the temple premises and expressed regret that, in recent times, temple festivals in our villages have largely featured only kuthu songs.
