The progress review meeting of the Northern Provincial Ministry of Health, Indigenous Medicine, Probation, and Child Care Services was held today – on Thursday 05 March 2026, evening at the Governor’s Secretariat under the chairmanship of the Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vedanayahan.
During this discussion, the current progress of projects that were initiated in 2025 and are expected to continue this year was reviewed in detail. Challenges faced in implementing these projects were also discussed. In addition, officials informed that the process of calling for proposals for new projects to be implemented in 2026 has already commenced.
Furthermore, special attention was given to the technical challenges and delays encountered in projects implemented through foreign funding sources, and appropriate solutions were reached during the meeting.
Addressing the officials, the Governor emphasized that the challenges and practical issues faced while implementing last year’s projects should be taken as valuable experience, and that this year’s projects must be completed efficiently and promptly without any delays.
This special discussion was attended by the Secretary to the Governor – Northern Province, the Secretary of the Provincial Ministry of Health, Deputy Chief Secretaries, the Acting Provincial Director of Health Services, the Commissioner of the Provincial Department of Indigenous Medicine, the Commissioner of the Provincial Department of Probation and Child Care Services, the Director of the Provincial Department of Buildings, as well as Regional Directors of Health Services and several other senior officials.
