In view of the current inclement weather and disaster situation prevailing in the Northern Province, special instructions have been issued by the Hon.Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan, regarding the teaching and learning activities of Muslim schools operating in the province.

Accordingly, the Governor has instructed that the Zonal Directors of Education may take decisions on whether to close or continue Muslim schools, taking into consideration the disaster situation and weather changes prevailing in their respective areas.

The Governor has further pointed out that, with the aim of ensuring the safety of students and teachers, Zonal Directors of Education can make immediate decisions suited to the local conditions in their respective areas.
