In his address, he urged everyone to take responsibility for the various services provided to the public and to commit to their duties with dedication. He emphasized the importance of public service, stating, “Each of us must work to ensure that the government’s goal is successful. Each of us is there to serve the people.”

The ceremony began with the Governor hoisting the national flag, followed by the hoisting of the Northern Provincial Council flag by M. Nanthagopalan, the Secretary to the Governor of Northern Province. A two-minute silence was observed in memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the country, and all officers took an oath related to the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ initiative.

The Hon. Governor also addressed the Governor’s Secretariat staff, urging them to act in a manner that inspires trust among the people. He called for a corruption-free, bribe-free public service and assured the staff that the government would not allow political pressures or interferences to disrupt their work.
