Governor appoints a team to probe the Language Issues of NPC Government Institutions

 A team of five members headed by a Senior Lecturer of Jaffna University Swaminathan Vimal was appointed by Governor Suren Raghavan to probe the language problems prevailing in the government institutions of Northern Province.

 The Governor already instructed the relevant officials that the trilingual policy should be properly implemented in all government departments and offices of the Northern Province before 9th April 2019. Accordingly, the team will monitor and assist the offices to implement the policy.

The team is comprised of one head and five members: The Chairman – Senior Lecturer (Linguistic Department) of Jaffna University and members – Former Principal of Palaly Teachers’ Training College S.Pathmanathan, Vice Principal of Kopay Teachers’ Training College S.Laleesan, Principal of Jaffna Osmania College Mohideen Hani Shehu Rayeeth and Assistant Director of Education Department (Second Language) Sutharshi Fernando.

This team will provide advice and solutions to the issues related to the implementation of language policies in the government institutions of the Northern Province.
