A discussion was held to review the financial and physical progress of the projects being implemented this year under the Ministry of Agriculture.
The monthly review meeting to review the financial and physical progress of projects implemented this year under the Ministry of Agriculture & Agrarian Services, Animal Husbandry, Irrigation, Fisheries, Water Supply, and Environment of the Northern Province was held today (Wednesday, 16 July 2025) at the Governor’s Secretariat, under the chairmanship of the Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, Mr. N. Vethanayahan.
Speaking at the outset of the meeting, the Governor emphasized the need to guide farmers toward export-oriented cultivation in the future. He also inquired about the outcomes of the recent small-scale cultivation efforts.
Following this, the progress of each department; the Ministry of Agriculture, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Livestock Development, and the Department of Irrigation was reviewed separately and in detail. Notably, the Governor gave special attention to the progress and challenges of each individual project.
The Chief Secretary of the Northern Province, Secretary to the Governor, Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture, Deputy Chief Secretary – Finance, Planning, Director of the Department of Agriculture, Director of the Department of Irrigation, Director of the Department of Livestock Development, and Deputy District Directors also participated in the meeting.
