Field day on Parachute Method of paddy establishment

In Vavuniya district parachute method of Paddy establishment had been practiced in maha 2023/24 in 32 Acres. In this situation field day event was organized at Kalesiyambalawa village on 08.02.2024 under the chairmanship of Vavuniya district Deputy Provincial Director of Agriculture Mr. P. Atputhachandran.

Vavuniya District Secretary and Government Agent Mr. P. A. Sarathchandra graced the event as Chief guest, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture (NP) Mr. Mariyathasan Jegu, Provincial Director of Agriculture (NP) Ms. Sukanthini Senthilkumaran participated as guest of Honors. Assistant Secretary, District Agriculture Director, Agriculture Instructors, Farmers also participated in this field day event.

Chief guest Vavuniya District Secretary Mr. P. A. Sarathchandra addressed that though this parachute method introduced before 10 years it was not so popular among farmers and now this improved parachute method of establishment seems to be so easy to practice and profitable.

During this event comprehensive explanation was given by Agriculture Instructor to convened farmers and representatives.
