The Field Day on Paddy cultivation was held on 02.01.2026 at 11:30 a.m. at the District Agricultural Training Centre, Muruganoor, Vavuniya, under the chairmanship of Farm Manager Mr. M. Ajanthakumar.
The event was attended by Mr. S. Sivasri, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture (NP) Mrs. S. Senthilkumaran, Provincial Director of Agriculture (NP), Mr. T. Yogeswaran, Additional Provincial Director of Agriculture (NP) Mrs. Judith Malini Muralitharan, Deputy Director of Agriculture Vavuniya Mr. S. Sarvanantha, Deputy Director of Irrigation, Vavuniya, Subject Mater officers, Agricultural instructors, Technical Assistants, representatives of farmer organizations, and farmers.
On this occasion, Mr. M. Ajanthakumar, Farm Manager, provided explanations on different crop establishment methods in Paddy cultivation, traditional rice varieties, and the use of the cono weeder in paddy farming. The programme concluded successfully at 12:30 p.m.
