Though the works carried out under Capital Development Programme with the financial support of Northern Province’s PSDG and CBG were over, the contractors’ bills pricing Rs. 898.4 Million were not settled as the Treasury did not release the imprest fully.
The contractors requested the Governor that this large amount of arrears affected their financial activities. Considering their request, Governor had instructed relevant authorities to make advance payment from the provincial fund to settle their bills before March.
As per the instruction of the Governor, the contractors’ arrears have been cleared completely within the end of February and the financial crisis of them has been solved.
Accordingly, the new capital programs for 2019 will be implemented without any hassle.
