The first and final District Coordinating Committee Meeting for Mullaitivu District was held under the chairmanship of the Government Agent of Mullaitivu District at the District Secretariat Auditorium on 19 December 2020 at 9.30 am.
During the discussion, the Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, Mrs. PSM Charles, Parliamentarian of the Vanni District and Co-Chairman of the Coordinating Committee K.Mastan, Vavuniya and Mannar District Parliamentarians, Additional Government Agent, Chief Secretary, Secretary to the Governor, Coordinating Secretary, Secretaries to the Ministries of the Northern Province and Heads of Departments of the Northern Province, Chairman, and Secretaries of Mullaitivu Local Authorities, Divisional Secretaries, Police, high ranking officials from Forces and District Secretariat Officers were present.
Commenting on the inaugural event, the Hon. Governor said that this is the first meeting to be held this year for the plans submitted by the District Secretary.
The discussion focused on health, education, human resources, infrastructure facilities, agriculture, fisheries, cattle farming, road development, farmers’ land issue, construction of Vadduvakal Bridge, tank renovation, setting up playground, land permits, repairing of Uyilankulam bund, 2nd stage of new bus stand construction, and COVID 19 situation.
