The Northern Provincial Ministry of Women’s Affairs is successfully carrying out a dry food package project with the support from the Hon. Governor and the Chief Secretary of Northern Province, for vulnerable women-headed families who have suffered due to the sudden death or loss of the family’s breadwinner and are facing difficulties in carrying out their daily lives.
Accordingly, in the first phase Mannar – 20, Jaffna – 26, Kilinochchi – 22, Vavuniya -14, Mullaitivu – 17 women headed families and in the second phase in Mannar – 04, Jaffna – 07, Kilinochchi – 02, Vavuniya -05, Mullaitivu – 06 women headed families have received dry food so far. Packages are being delivered on priority basis.
