Discussion on Boundary Stone Installation Around Jaffna Fort Held Under Governor’s Chairmanship

A discussion regarding the installation of boundary stones around the Jaffna Fort was held under the chairmanship of the Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan, at the Governor’s Secretariat – on Tuesday morning (21st October 2025).

The installation of boundary stones, initiated by the Department of Archaeology, had been halted. This matter was reviewed during today’s discussion.

It was decided in the discussion that the Department of Archaeology, Jaffna Municipal Council, and the Road Development Authority would jointly undertake the completion of the remaining boundary stone installation work.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary to the Northern Province Governor – Northern Province, the Additional District Secretary (Land) of Jaffna District, the Director of the Urban Development Authority – Northern Province, engineers from the Road Development Authority, the Provincial Director of the Road Development Department – Northern Province, the engineer from the Jaffna Municipal Council, and officials from the Department of Archaeology.
