The Career Guidance Unit of the University of Jaffna, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Indigenous Medicine, and Probation & Child Care Services, successfully conducted a full-day professional development workshop titled “Simplifying Office Tasks through Modern IT Practices” on 5 December 2025.
The programme was facilitated by Prof. M. Siyamalan, Director of the Career Guidance Unit; Dr. R. Nirthika, Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science; and Dr. E. Y. A. Charles, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science. Their combined expertise provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of modern digital tools and techniques relevant to administrative works.
The workshop aimed to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity in day-to-day office operations by introducing participants to practical IT solutions. Throughout the day, attendees engaged in hands-on sessions that enabled them to apply newly learned tools directly to real-world administrative tasks.
A total of 86 staff members from the Ministry took part in the programme, gaining valuable insights and practical skills to advance their digital competencies. The event marked a significant step toward promoting technology-driven administrative excellence within the Ministry.
