On the evening of Monday, July 21, 2025, a delegation headed by the Chairman of the Chavakachcheri Pradeshiya Sabha, Mr. Ponnaiya Kugathasan, met with the Honorable Governor of the Northern Province, Mr. N. Vethanayahan, at the Governor’s Secretariat for a discussion.
During the meeting, the delegation submitted several requests to the Governor, including support for conducting property valuations, facilitating tax collection, and addressing staff vacancies within the council. They also requested financial allocations to establish two sub-offices for the council, which are currently operating in private buildings. The Honorable Governor assured the delegation of his cooperation in addressing these matters.
