As you can see, there are several Indian casinos in Miami offering , bingo, table games, poker rooms, slot machines, simulcast racing, and more. Unfortunately, Miami-Dade County has no tribal casinos or commercial casinos within its boundaries. Northward and inland from Miami Beach, however, there are several casinos located around Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Must-See Las Vegas Attractions That Ain’t Casinos – Time Square Anyone? This is because the Seminole Compact of 1979 stated that any gaming on their reservations was only allowed to offer bingo and high-stakes bingo. Any other type of game would require an amendment to the compact. In 1983, the Seminoles started offering high-stakes bingo, which quickly progressed into “electronic bingo” which were essentially slots, but under the guise of a bingo game.
With the passage of time Amendments #9A and #9B to the Seminole Compact in 1990, the tribe gained exclusive rights to offer and Vegas-style games on their reservations throughout south Florida. Today, casinos in South Florida offer slots, video poker, and various table games such as blackjack, craps, roulette, Spanish 21, and baccarat.
The minimum gambling age inside Seminole casinos is 21+ while poker rooms may have a minimum age requirement of 18+ to play. As far as what to wear to these establishments, most casinos in Miami have a resort casual dress code. This means that collared shirts and clothes with pockets or studs are prohibited. Men are also required to wear closed-toe shoes. Jeans, sneakers, and hats are acceptable as long as they are neatly groomed.
