Hollywood Casino Mahoning Valley may be the main attraction in this part of Ohio, but there are plenty of other things to do in the area. If you find yourself with some extra time on your hands, consider playing a round of golf.
Topgolf Drive, Chip & Putt is the only real course at this facility, but there are plenty of other options within 15 miles. I’ll break down all of your options in this area below so that you can pick the one that best fits your game.
Topgolf Drive, Chip & Putt
PAR 21 YARDAGE 760 TYPE Driving Range/Chipping/Putting
You don’t have to leave your gaming skills on the casino floor. The Topgolf driving range is right next door, and it’s definitely worth a visit. This range is different from any other that you’ve been to in the past.
For starters, they use a point system instead of traditional scoring. You get points based on where your ball hits on the target. The more balls you have in the same section, the more points you receive.
There are six targets at different distances, and each has a different number of points. There are even microchips that you can put in your balls that keep track of everything for you.
The facility also has bays with games and interactive experiences that will challenge even the most seasoned golfer. My favorite is the Zombie Chase game, how about you?
When its time to work on your short game, head over to the enormous chipping and putting area. It’s almost as big as some of the greens that you will play on during your next round.
If you need to warm up before you hit the casino, Topgolf Drive, Chip & Putt is an excellent alternative to the Hollywood Casino Mahoning Valley golf course.
Montrose Golf Course
PAR 36 YARDAGE 3498 TYPE Public
Montrose Golf Course is the first of our Hollywood Casino Mahoning Valley golf course alternatives that is actually a full 18-hole golf course. It’s operated by the city of Niles, Ohio, and has been open since 1929.
This golf course measures out to be just under 3500 yards from the tips and is a par 36. Even though it’s on the shorter side, it still packs quite a punch. The undulating greens and narrow fairways make this course play much longer.
“It’s not about the number of hours you spend volunteering… but the amount of difference your efforts make. ‘Life’ is too short to spend time on things that don’t matter or won’t make a difference.”
Green fees are very affordable, especially if you decide to walk the golf course. Rates start at just $12 for nine holes and $18 for 18. They offer clubs and pull carts for a small fee, but there is no motorized cart fleet.
Montrose Golf Course is open to the public and welcomes players of all skill levels. If you are looking for a challenging, yet affordable round near Hollywood Casino Mahoning Valley, this is an ideal choice.

Sleepy Hollow Golf Course is another one of the closest golf courses to Topgolf Warren OH, as it’s only five miles from Youngstown-Warren Airpoirt (CAK). It’s an older golf course but has held up quite well considering it opened in 1931.
One of the biggest reasons why Sleepy Hollow Golf Course is still around after nearly 100 years is that they updated the golf course in the 1950s. They added bentgrass to the tees, fairways, and greens, which allowed them to host many qualifiers for the US Open, PGA Tour, and PGA Championship.
Speaking of the greens, they are known to be very slick. Make sure that you bring plenty of pace in your putting stroke, or else you might three-putt your way to a high score.

That’s right; they allow your furry friends to walk the golf course with you. Your pup must weigh over 50 pounds and be leashed at all times, but they are welcome to ride in your cart with you.

Mill Creek Golf Club

Out of all the golf courses near Topgolf Warren OH, Mill Creek Golf Club is my favorite. It’s only three miles south of the entertainment venue and is laid out on some of the most beautiful land in Trumbull County, Ohio.
Mill Creek meanders through deep valleys and steep hills covered with hardwood trees. There are several rock formations and waterfalls that flow into Mill Creek, which runs through six of the eighteen holes. It’s like playing golf in the Smokey Mountains without having to travel more than three hours.

They have a replica of the 16th hole at the old Augusta National (now called Redbud). They also have a replica of Amen Corner, which is a combination of holes 11, 12, and 13 at Augusta. Glenwood Grille at Oak Hill Golf Club

Oak Hill Golf Club is world renowned for hosting three U.S. Opens, a PGA Championship, a U.S. Women’s Open, two Senior PGA Championships, a U.S. Amateur, and a Ryder Cup. It has also been recognized as the number one golf resort in America multiple times.

It’s nestled on 300 feet of elevation, providing breathtaking views of the valley below. Most of the tees, fairways, and greens are blue grass, which helps Oak Hill Golf Club stand out among the rest.
As you would expect, this golf course is very expensive. Green fees range from $425 – $575 depending on the time of year and whether you walk or ride. Needless to say, this is not somewhere I can afford to play on a regular basis.
So what’s the best way to check out this masterpiece? Eat at the Glenwood Grille, which is right next to the 18th green. I had the pleasure of enjoying a burger here after my round at Mill Creek, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint.
I highly recommend getting a table by the window so you can admire some missed fairways and lost putts. There is nothing quiet like a golfer missing a four-foot putt, trust me.
Even if you can’t afford to play Oak Hill Golf Cub, you can at least enjoy the views and taunt the players from the safety of the Glenwood Grille.
Lake Shore Golf Course
PAR 36 YARDAGE 3347 TYPE Municipal
Lake Shore Golf Course is a fun little par 36 layout that comes in at just under 3400 yards. It’s a relatively flat course, but there are quite a few mature trees that come into play on many holes.
Most of the greens are protected by bunkers, and there are a handful of ponds and streams scattered throughout the property. Be prepared to lay back on some holes to avoid a big number.
All tees, fairways, and greens are dwarf bentgrass, which provides a great surface to hit your shots. They also overseed with rye grass in the fall, ensuring that you will have a great lie no matter when you choose to play.
Rates at Lake Shore Golf Course are very affordable, with nine holes going for just $8 (walking) during the offseason. The pro shop has everything you need, including clubs, push and pull carts, and frozen treats.
This is another course that allows dogs as long as they are leashed and weigh more than 50 pounds. Just make sure to clean up after fido; otherwise, you might get charged with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Austinburg Hills Golf Course

Austinburg Hills Golf Course is the second of our Ashtabula County golf courses and the last one on my list. At 6856 yards and a par 72, it’s got quite a bit of length. Add in the fact that it sits on 200 feet of elevation changes, and you have a truly memorable experience.
Each hole features four sets of tees, allowing all skill levels to enjoy their round. Austinburg Hills also boasts bentgrass fairways and greens, which is hard to find in this price range.
This semi-private golf course offers great rates for both residents and nonresidents. It’s pretty cheap to play here if you live in Conneaut, OH. Nonresident rates are still very reasonable, coming in at $25 for 18 holes after 1:00 PM.
They also offer a driving range, large practice green, power carts, golf cars, and pull carts. Club rentals are not available, so make sure to bring a set or purchase one from their well-stocked pro shop.

Topgolf Drive, Chip & Putt has a grill with all of your classic favorites, but sometimes you want to sit down and enjoy a nice meal after your round. These golf courses near Hollywood Casino Mahoning Valley all have a restaurant on site, but which one has the best food?
Glenwood Grille at Oak Hill Golf Club is by far the best place to eat around here. Yes, the prices are a bit outrageous, but so is the quality of the food. Make sure to stop in and enjoy a cold beverage and a hot dog while taunting some golfers with your superior handicap.
If you don’t mind driving a bit, there are plenty of other great places to eat in this part of Ohio. Here are a few of my favorites.
Best Hotels Near Hollywood Casino Mahoning Valley
Whether you are visiting for a day trip or plan on staying for a week, there are plenty of great hotels in the area. All of the hotels I found were ten miles or less from Hollywood Casino Mahoning Valley.
Fun Poker Games You Can Play Online Right NowThe top three choices are all franchise hotels, so you know what you are going to get. Fairfield by Marriott looks like the best value, but there are benefits to staying at Hampton or Home2Suites as well.
Comfort Suites is a bit more expensive, but it’s attached to the casino. If you are looking to gamble and not walk all the way from your hotel room, this is the obvious choice.
Best Golf Courses Near Topgolf Warren OH
In my opinion, Mill Creek Golf Club is the best golf course to play near Hollywood Casino Mahoning Valley. Not only is it one of the closest courses to the entertainment venue, but it’s also one of the most scenic.
Their replicas of famous holes from Augusta National really add to the round and make you feel like a major champion.
That said, I know that Mill Creek might not be accessible due to time constraints or the tee sheet. If you can’t get a tee time, I recommend giving Oak Hill Golf Club a call to see if they can fit you in.
If you are cool with playing a municipal course, Montrose and Sleepy Hollow are both fantastic options. No matter which golf course you choose, I know you will have a great time!
