Little river casino resort tips - located in manitowoc

Little River Casino Resort

Located in Manitowoc, Wisconsin

Welcome to my Little River Casino Resort Review. Here you'll find information about all they have to offer, including their hotel accommodations, dining options, amenities, entertainment, and of course their slot machines and table games.

Firstly, let me say that this casino resort is not actually in Little Chute. It's located in Manitowoc, Wisconsin which is nearly a 3-hour drive from Little Chute. I assume they chose the name because it starts with "Little" like Little Chute and it has "River" like Little Chute. But whatever, it's a nice casino resort and well worth the visit/stay.

Little River Casino Resort

The Little River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians opened the doors to their new casino resort in Manitowoc, WI back in 2009. It cost them a cool $80 million dollars but by all accounts it was money well spent as this place is first class all the way.

This casino is open 24/7/365 and employs around 700 people from the area.  The resort consists of a hotel, restaurant/bar, gift shop and, of course, gaming area.  There is also plenty of additional space for future expansion.

In case you're wondering why there is a casino in Manitowok I found the answer on their site:  In November of 1992 the Little River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians were granted recognition by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and in 1995 they acquired 13 acres of land just off of exit 134 on I-44.
Then, after much anticipation, Little River Casino opened its doors in March of 1999.

Just over a decade later they broke ground on their new casino resort further down the road and across the freeway.  They completed phase one of that project in '09 and officially opened it to much fanfare on October 9, 2009.

Phase two of the expansion project was finished in the spring of 2012 and added a new event center, more hotel rooms and extra kitchen space.  With all this expansion it looks like they are planning on becoming a major tourist destination in Wisconsin so stay tuned.

By the way, the Little River Casino Resort is a smoke-free facility.  They do allow smoking in designated areas outside of the building but everywhere else is smoke free.  This includes the gaming floor.

Little River Casino Gaming

The gaming area at Little River Casino is quite large and very modern w/over 750k square feet of gaming space.  The total number of Little River Casino games is just under 550 w/slots making up roughly 85% of that total.

They also have a decent selection of classic table games, some interesting electronic versions and a full complement of craps & roulette tables plus a full poker room.  If you're looking for LIVE poker tables to play then this is the closest one for us in the Fox Cities.

If you're not familiar with an "electronic table game" (ETG) pictured left, it's basically an automated version of a classic table game.  Think of it as a hybrid of a slot machine and a live dealer game.  You have your own dedicated seat w/screen and controls and the action takes place right in front of you.  Other than placing your bet you don't really need to know how to play blackjack, for example, to play at one of these etgs.  Lucky for you they all ad surrounding views so you can people watch while you lose track of time and money....

Some of the ETG's at Little River even let you squeeze the virtual cards.... what more could you ask for?

Anyway, the point is that if you're intimidated by classic table games or just prefer to play something that doesn't require other human interactions these are perfect.  By the way, the minimum bet on most ETG's is only $1 so they are great for low rollers too.

Little River Slot Machines

Of the 550+ games at Little River Casino Resort almost 90% of them are slot machines.  They have everything from penny slots to $25 min bet progressives and everything in between.  Also, since they are all relatively young machines I'm sure they are all pretty sweet too.  Denominations include dollar, nickel, dime, and penny machines.

You'll find all the usual suspects from all the big players in the gaming world... Bally, WMS, IGT, etc. w/games like Wheel of Fortune, Cleopatra, Wolf Run, Fire Light, Lightning Link and the like.  They even have a few linked Progressive Jackpot games with combined jackpots regularly exceeding $200K.

best virginia online casino sites

As you can see from the pic to the right they also have some rather large flat screen TV's above some of their slots that lower when there is a big event or game on.  Pretty cool.

Personally I'm not a big slot machine player but I'm sure the wife will be thrilled that I mentioned their "hot drop jackpots."

Classic Table Games

Even though slots make up the bulk of their gaming area they do have a fair number of classic table games sprinkled throughout.  Blackjack gets top billing here with close to three dozen tables offering various forms of the game.  If you're into blackjack you'll find all the usual variations including Blazing 77's, 6 in 1, Triple Attack, Super Fun 21, Xtreme 21 and of course traditional blackjack.

There are also several dozen ETG's that feature blackjack and you can usually find some good promotions running for both the live and ETG blackjack games.  See their Players Club for details.

Other table games you'll find on the gaming floor at Little River Casino Resort are mini-bumper (a.k.a. Sic Bo), Roulette, Craps, Pai Gow, Three Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold'em.  Again, if you're interested in playing any of these games I highly recommend checking out our FREE Ebook on How to Play Casino Games.  You'll learn the basics, optimal strategy, best odds, and more.  Click the banner below for instant access...

They also have high limit table games available upon request.  Give them the word and they'll clear some space and set you up with your favorite game at whatever limit you choose.

Electronic Table Games

Besides the classic table games you'll also find dozens of ETG's (Electronic Table Games) scattered throughout the casino.  As I mentioned earlier these are kind of a cross between a slot machine and a classic table game where you have your own dedicated seat/screen combo and play against the machine.

At Little River Casino you'll find ETG's featuring , Blackjack, Casino War, Roulette, and Baccarat.  Some of the ETG's are pretty unique too w/$3 multi-player spinning roulette being one of them.  Check it out... Pretty slick.

One of the main benefits to playing on the ETG's is that you don't have to deal with other humans.  No tipping, no crap players that slow the game down to a crawl, no drunken arguments, etc. etc.

Oh, and did I mention that the minimum bet on most ETG's is only $1??  Perfect for the low roller or someone just learning the game.

Finally, if you want to learn more about ETG's in general check out my page devoted entirely to them HERE.

Craps & Roulette

Like most casinos these days the craps setup at Little River Casino is mostly made up of ETG's.  I didn't count but I'd guess there are 4-6 live craps tables and another half dozen ETG craps stations.  Same deal with roulette... maybe 2-4 live tables and another half dozen ETG roulettes.

No Deposit Bonus Spins – Best Sites for December 2023

Not a big deal really but just something to keep in mind if you're a serious table games player.  That said, from what I could tell the casino was pretty busy on a Saturday night so I'm guessing on a weeknight things might be different.

Also, check out their Players Club for possible table games promotions.  Sometimes casinos will offer matchplay or promo chips for certain days of the week to help fill the seats.

Poker at Little River Casino

If you like to play poker you'll be happy to know that Little River Casino Resort has a full poker room w/12 tables.  They spread both Texas Hold'em and Omaha at various limits and have nightly tournaments too.

If memory serves me correctly they also have poker cash games going most days/nights.  Best thing to do is give them a call at (920) 684-5142 to get info on current games & limits.

Little River Casino Map

Like most casinos these days Little River has distributed thousands of "Find Your Way" cards to randomly chosen patrons.  All you do is look at the card and it shows you the location of your starting point to wherever you want to go in the casino.  Pretty slick and incredibly accurate.

If you don't have one of these cards it's probably a good idea to avoid making a bee line straight for the slot bank directly in the middle of the gaming area....

Little River Casino Hotel

The Little River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians spared no expense when building their new casino resort and it shows.  The hotel tower has five stories and over 250 newly renovated rooms that all come standard with a king or queen size bed, 55” flat screen tv, wet bar, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and board, WiFi and private bath with whirlpool tub and separate shower.

Suites are also available and sleep six comfortably.  The Presidential Suite sleeps eight and is absolutely stunning w/separate bedroom, living room, fireplace, jacuzzi tub, full bar, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, etc. etc.

Room rates seem to hover somewhere around $150-$200/nt depending on season and type of room you want.  Again, the Presidential suite will run you closer to $500/nt.

All hotel guests have access to the fitness center, indoor pool (see below), business center and the Connections Interactive Lobby.  This last one is pretty cool.  It's an 8-foot touchscreen kiosk where you can order show tickets, make dinner reservations, book a round of golf, etc. etc. All without having to stand in line anywhere.

Check out this short video for a quick room tour and overall overview of the hotel amenities.

Little River Casino Dining

When it comes to dining options at Little River Casino Resort you won't be disappointed.  They have a wide variety of choices ranging from sit-down fine dining, fast-casual fare, grill favorites, pastries, ice cream, cocktails, beer, smoothies and more.  Basically they have something for everyone regardless of age, tastes or budget.

Casino NJ Review - Great Slots & Games to Play in NJ!

Most of the restaurants and food venues at Little River are open daily from early morning until late evening/early morning again.  Some may have slightly different hours so I'd check their site before heading out if you're a morning or late night munchie person.

Here is a quick rundown of all your dining options at Little River Casino...

Fireside Terrace

Located on the north end of the casino the Fireside Terrace is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  This is their upscale fine dining establishment w/white table cloths, fireplaces, flat screen tv's, a full bar and breathtaking views of the Kettleborough Lake.

The menu features steaks, chops, seafood and pasta dishes along with an excellent wine list.  To give you an idea of prices appetizers start at $9 and steak dinners range from $32-$59.

They also serve up a pretty epic Sunday Brunch buffet from 9:30am-2:30pm for $24.95 adults / $12.95 kids 5-11 yrs old.  Reservations are recommended for all meals especially the brunch buffet.

Call 'em at (920) 684-5353 to make a reservation or for more info.

Connections Food Court & Market Place

If you're not in the mood for fine dining or dropping 60 bucks on a steak dinner Connections Food Court is a much better option.  The food court has several quick serve stations that dish out grill favorites, soups, sandwiches, salads, pastas, pizza, desserts, fried chicken, tacos, and much more.

Prices here range from $4-$12 per item and there are lots of options for those with special dietary needs.  Everything is fresh and looks delicious.

Adjacent to the food court is the Connections Market Place where you'll find grab-and-go items like candy, chips, soda, sandwiches, fruit, salads, hot meals, pastries, ice cream, etc. etc.  They also have a full service Starbucks inside the Market Place complete with plenty of seating.

Both the food court and market place are open seven days a week from early morning until late evening.

The Bar

Connections Food Court also has a huge central bar called simply "The Bar."  This place has 40 high definition plasma televisions so it's a great spot to catch the big game while enjoying a cold beer or finely crafted cocktail.

The Bar is open the same hours as the food court/market place.  If you're counting calories or carbs they also have a selection of light beers on tap and a variety of wines.

Café 3 Mile

If you're looking for a casual sit-down dining experience the Café 3 Mile is a great choice.  Open 24/7 the café serves up traditional American diner fare like omelets, waffles, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches from 6am-2pm daily.  Afternoons and evenings they switch gears to soups, salads, deli sandwiches, burgers, wraps, etc. etc.

Again, nothing fancy here but everything looks and smells delicious.  Prices are very reasonable with most items under $10.  They also have a full service bar with all your usual suspects on hand.  Cocktails, cold beers, frosty margaritas, frozen drinks, etc. etc.

Best thing about the Café 3 Mile, besides the food, is the enormous picture window that overlooks the marshes and Kettleborough Lake.  Really nice.

Sundries

Last but not least is the Sundries gift shop, also located in the hotel lobby.  Here you'll find all the usual assortment of gifts, snacks, personal care items, t-shirts, hats, jewelry, lottery tickets, postcards, etc. etc.

Of all the casinos in Wisconsin that I've reviewed Little River Casino Resort might just have the best overall collection of dining establishments.  Whether you're looking for a snack, sandwich, burger, steak, coffee, ice cream, fine dining, cocktail, or a cold beer they've got you covered.  I'm always leery of "casino food" but everything here looks really good and I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

Little River Casino Entertainment

If you're looking for non-gaming related activities at Little River Casino Resort they have a couple of options.  First is the nearby Aquarium Coalition which features a variety of aquariums filled with native fish species from the Great Lakes region.  Second is the Little River Casino Bowling Alley which has 8 lanes of fun for folks of all ages.

Otherwise you're kinda out of luck as far as actual onsite activities go.  However, their location in downtown Manitowoc makes it within walking distance of several bars, restaurants and shops.

Depending on the time of year there may be festivals, concerts, farmers markets, etc. going on in the area so it's always a good idea to do a Google search before you leave home.  Otherwise just enjoy the scenery and small town charm of Manitowoc... It's a quaint little burg.

If you're into golf there are half a dozen courses within 10 miles of the casino.  My favorite is Bull’s Eye Golf which is an awesome indoor/outdoor mini golf course with a unique WWII theme.  The wives and I played 18 holes there last time we were in and had a blast.

Finally, during the warmer months you might want to take a leisurely drive out to Two Rivers and walk out on the pier to see the sunken freighter, SS Bowler.  It's only a couple miles south of Manitowoc.

Aquarium Coalition at the Rahr-West Mansion

Just across the street from the casino you'll find the historic Rahr-West Mansion which now houses the Aquarium Coalition.  This beautiful old Victorian home was built in 1857 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Inside you'll find four floors of historically restored rooms and artifacts along with several amazing aquariums showcasing fish from all 5 of the Great Lakes and nearby rivers.  My favorite was the 27 foot long tank filled with lake trout, sturgeon, walleye, small mouth bass, musky, and a few other interesting catches.

Las Vegas Shows That Are Worth Seeing in 2023

The Rahr-West Mansion/Aquarium is open Tue-Sun 10am-4pm. Admission is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors/students, and free for kids 5 and under.  For more info call 'em at (920) 683-7411.

Little River Casino Bowling Alley

For some reason I somehow missed the fact that Little River Casino has their very own bowling alley.  Six lanes of shoe rentin', bumpin', gutter ball preventin' goodness.  Prices are very reasonable considering everything these days... Adults are $15/hr on weekdays ($20 on weekends) and $10/hr for kids under 15.  Shoe rental is $3.50.

Bowling is open Mon-Thu 4pm-10pm, Fri 4pm-Midnight, Sat 10am-Midnight and Sun 10am-10pm.  They also have league bowling and birthday party packages available.  For more info call 'em at (920) 684-5444.

Little River Casino Bus Trips

If you're not lucky enough to live close enough to Manitowoc to visit Little River Casino Resort on a regular basis you might want to look into their bus trips.  They have a fleet of charter buses that travel throughout eastern Wisconsin taking folks to the casino for a day or evening of fun and gambling.

Trips depart from numerous cities including Appleton, Green Bay, Sheboygan, Oshkosh, Fond du Lac, and more.  Daytime trips depart early am and return around 7pm giving you plenty of time to gamble, eat, and shop to your hearts content.  Overnight trips are also available for those who want to stay at the hotel and sleep in that king sized bed.

Little River Casino offers two different types of bus trips... Regular scheduled runs and charters for groups, weddings, reunions, etc.  Their scheduled bus trips typically run Thurs-Mon with varying departure times.  Prices depend on the trip and whether it's during the day or evening.

Daytime trips generally run around $30 per person and include $20 in free slot play and a $5 food voucher.  Evening trips start at $40 and include a $5 food voucher and a commemorative photo of your trip.  Overnight trips vary widely depending on the length of stay, rooms starts, food, drinks, tours, etc. etc.

To get on one of these scheduled bus trips all you have to do is call their toll free number (888) GO2PLAY and reserve your seat(s).  They suggest you do this at least 24 hours in advance but you could probably call on your way to work and make it on tonight's trip if you really wanted to.

If you have a group of 20 or more people you can also charter your own bus to Little River Casino.  This is a great way for clubs, organizations, family reunions, weddings, etc. etc. To spend some time gambling, eating, shopping and having a good time together.

Little River provides all the transportation, complimentary slot play, discounted hotel rates, and various meal plans to fit your budget.  Give them a call at (888) GO2PLAY for all the juicy details and to set up your group bus trip today!

Little River Casino Hotel Spa

Unfortunately the Little River Casino Resort does not have an onsite spa for tired, sore, and wrinkled gamblers to relax and unwind at.  What they do have however is a reciprocal agreement with the Holiday Inn Express & Conference Center across the street.

Guests of Little River Casino can enjoy all the amenities at the Holiday Inn including their full service Serenity Spa.  Services offered here include massage therapy, body treatments, facials, manicures/pedicures, waxing, and makeup applications.  All performed by licensed professionals.

The Serenity Spa is open Tue-Sat 9am-8pm.  For appointments or more info call 'em at (920) 684-5711.

Little River Casino Jobs

Looking to work at Little River Casino… a few suggestions.  First, get a job!  Just kidding… sorta.  Anyways, due to their "smoke free" policy they no longer have any slot technicians positions available... bummer.  However, they do have jobs available in many other departments including housekeeping, security, culinary, maintenance, marketing, player development, cash services, and sales.

To search for current job openings and to apply online visit their employment webpage HERE.  From there you can browse all the open positions, read job descriptions, qualifications, responsibilities, etc. etc.  Then simply click the "apply now" button to fill out their online application.

Another option is to stop by the casino and pick up a hard copy of their application form.  Fill it out and turn it in at the front desk, any food establishment, the hotel desk, or the Connections Food Court.  Personally I'd fill it out at home then turn it in in person to increase your chances of scoring an interview.  Good luck!

Finally, if you already work at Little River Casino Resort and need to access the employee portal you can do so HERE.  Once there you can view the internal phone directory, newsletters, update your personal info, benefit enrollment, time off requests, pay stubs, W-2 forms, training modules, etc. etc.

Little River Casino Gifts

If you're looking for Little River Casino Gifts, or want to send a little something to that special someone, they have a small gift shop next to the hotel registration desk.  Here you'll find all kinds of LRCR swag including hats, visors, coffee cups, shot glasses, keychains, magnets, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, etc. etc.

In addition, the Sundries gift shop in the hotel lobby carries a nice assortment of sundries, toiletries, personal care items, snacks, chocolates, greeting cards, toys, and all kinds of Little River Casino gifts and memorabilia.  Prices are very reasonable and everything looked nice.

Unfortunately the Sundries gift shop does NOT sell cigarettes :(  If you're a smoker like me you'll need to head over to the convenience store next door to Stock's Super Foods & Liquor.  They have a huge selection of domestic and import cigarettes, e-cigs, vape pens, humidors, lighters, ashtrays, etc. etc.

Now that I think about it there are vending machines scattered throughout the casino that also carry cigarettes, energy drinks, and snacks.

Final Thoughts on Little River Casino

Based on my research, and one visit many moons ago, I'd have to say that Little River Casino Resort is pretty bad ass.  Obviously a lot of thought and planning went into every detail of designing and building this place.  It's easy to navigate, super clean, and the staff are all friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

Granted, it's a bit of a haul from the Fox Cities but totally worth it if you're in the mood for a overnight getaway with the guys/girls.  Or even a weekend jaunt if you live within a few hours drive.  Either way, plan on spending some quality time and money because there's plenty to see and do in the area.

Best US Online Casinos for 2023

Of all the casinos in Wisconsin Little River is easily my second favorite behind Potawatomi Hotel & Casino.  Unless you love the slot machines at Four Seasons or Kristy's, in which case Little River should be your top pick.  Feel free to hang out in the nicer hotel, eat at the upscale restaurants, and try to splash the graphics techs at THS.

That's it for my Little River Casino review.  If you have any questions or info to add just post a comment below...

Other Casinos in Wisconsin

Hey there fellow slipper sock lovers! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you found my review of Little River Casino useful. Based on the info you've seen so far, do you happen to know if this is a smoke-free casino? If not, could you help me find that out? And while you're at it, would you happen to know if they have any LRCR coffee mugs for sale in the gift shop? I'm a bit of a collector. Lastly, do you happen to know of any other casinos in Wisconsin that are worth visiting? I'm always on the lookout for new slot machines and hot table games. Looking forward to hearing back from you! Until then, may all your losing streaks be brief, and your complimentary drink orders frequent. Cheers! P.S. Little River is definitely smoke-free, been there many times. Not sure about the coffee cup tho'. Other casinos in Wisc: Ho-Chunk Galesville/Madison, Potawatomi Carter, St. Croix, Legendary Eagle, Mystique, Ethnic Super Casino, Mille Lacs, Treasure Island, Minn.. Hope that helps!
