For rap music fans, it's often the drama that keeps them engaged just as much as the music itself. This can include beefs, legal issues, and even physical altercations. Some rappers seem to get into fights more than others.

12 Rappers Who Get Into Fights Often
(in no particular order)
1. 6ix9ine
It should come as no surprise that this rapper makes our list. With his history of problems with the law, it seems like a matter of "when" not "if" something will happen. Born Rakim Allen Price in New York City, he got his start in music in 2014. However, he did not see success until after he was .
In May of 2018, he was . In July, he was robbed at gunpoint. That incident resulted in charges against three of his associates, including two members of the 9ine Bully Gang (the crew he put together).
The following month, he was , but claimed that he set him up. Later that same day, he turned himself in regarding an arrest warrant out of Houston for charging over $350 for meet and greets and then not providing them. The next month, two men were arrested and charged for allegedly shooting at his car during traffic.
In November, he was involved in yet another altercation. This one took place at a mall in Brooklyn and was captured on video. It started when a shopper accused the rapper of disrespecting his wife. Another confrontation occurred days later outside of a studio in Manhattan. He finished the year off by claiming that he had nothing to do with the beating of fellow rapper , despite Gestapond member Kooda admitting that he and his crew did, in fact, beat him down.
In January of 2019, he turned himself in to authorities regarding a warrant out of Canada for instructing his bodyguards to shoot at a vehicle the previous June. A couple of months later, he announced that he was leaving the rap trio, Filthy Rich. Shortly after that, it was revealed that he was cooperating with authorities in their investigation into the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, which eventually led to several of his former friends and colleagues behind bars - including fellow rapper , who received a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 22 years.
Naturally, this move didn't sit well with many rappers and artists within the industry – and possibly the public. It also doesn't help matters that 6ix9ine is extremely vocal about the situation on social media and in interviews.
One individual who wasn't happy about his cooperation was Chicago rapper, Lil Durk. Tensions between these two rappers boiled over in early November, resulting in 6ix9ine being shot in the stomach at a basketball game. Fortunately, his injuries were non-life threatening.
These incidents aren't the last ones on our list, so be sure to keep reading 6ix9ine's rap career has been filled with drama since the beginning, and it appears as though it won't stop anytime soon. In fact, more drama ensued in late November when 6ix9ine was kicked out of a Las Vegas casino for starting a fight.
Reports are contradicting, but it seems as if the fight involving the "FEFE" rapper and a few of his entourage was started because of disrespect towards a woman or because he was being recorded. After being removed from the casino, he continued to cause issues outside of the building. As a result, the Clark County Department of Reactive Prosecution filed four counts against him:
- Disorderly conduct
- Two counts of barging
- One count of domestic partnership disturbance
If found guilty on all counts, he could face up to six months in jail and pay $1,015 in fines.
2. Chief Keef
Like the aforementioned rapper, Chief Keef has seen his fair share of trouble with the law. In fact, his arrest record began before his music career did. Born Keith Cozart in Chicago, Illinois, he was just 18 at the time of his first arrest.
That didn't keep him from signing a record deal shortly thereafter, however. His first album, "Finally Rich," came out in 2012. Since then, he has released nearly 20 additional albums and mixtapes.
With success often comes jealousy, hate, and drama. Such was the case in 2014, when rapper Lil Reese claimed that Chief Keef's people tried to jump him. According to Reese, this stemmed from Keef's belief that Reese was responsible for the death of a member of the 500 Nationz gang.
Keef denied having anything to do with it, and the two put their differences aside. That didn't stop other individuals from trying to harm Reese, however, as he was stabbed just weeks later. To this day, these two musicians appear to have a contentious relationship.
This isn't the only instance of Chief Keef getting into a physical altercation, either. There was the time he got punched in the head while performing at a club in Houston, Texas, in 2017. The person who threw the punch got past Keef's security detail and clocked him before security could apprehend him.
The rapper claims that he didn't know who the attacker was and didn't want to name the person, although many believe that it may have been Young Pappy, who had recently passed away.
There was also the time he was caught on video choking a male stripper in Atlanta, Georgia. The stripper alleged that Keef failed to show up for a meeting regarding a music video, so he and his friends paid a visit to the venue where the rapper was performing.
According to the stripper, that's when things went left. He did say that he accepted Keef's apology afterwards, however.
In March of this year (2021), there were reports of a brawl breaking out between Keef and Quavo at a party in Houston. Allegedly, Quavo punched Keef in the face after the latter made some disparaging remarks about Quavo's girlfriend, Saweetie.
3. ASAP Rocky
ASAP Rocky has had his fair share of run-ins with the law, but that doesn't mean the trouble follows him. In fact, he has taken heat for some of his actions over the years. One such instance occurred in 2012, when a video surfaced showing the rapper hitting another man.
He apologized for his behavior and said that he regretted his actions. This isn't the only time that he has gotten into a fight, however. Two years later, he and fellow rapper Tyga allegedly punched and kicked a guy at a club in Los Angeles.
Witnesses claim that the victim made a pass at Rihanna, who was at the establishment with the rappers. Despite her initial denial, she later confirmed the man's story. No charges were ever pressed against ASAP or Tyga.
Things seemed to calm down for the rapper until 2019, when he was . Swedish officials initially refused to grant him and his bodyguards official status, which would have allowed them to stay at a hotel. Instead, they were ordered to leave Sweden within 48 hours.
After much back-and-forth, including videos of the altercation in question being released, President Donald Trump offered to help get Rocky back to the United States. Eventually, the rapper was freed, but was charged with assault. He pleaded not guilty and was eventually acquitted on all counts.
Despite being cleared of wrongdoing, this incident seems to have changed Rocky's perspective on certain things. In an interview with GQ, he stated, "It changes you, just being away from your loved ones and seeing how the world really works."
4. The Game
When it comes to rappers who get into fights, The Game definitely belongs on the list. Born Jayceon Terrell Taylor in Compton, California, he has been involved in rap battles and actual battles for years. The trouble seemingly started way back in 2005, when he was sued for $10 million by an event promoter who claimed that The Game punched him and caused him to fall down some stairs.
While that case was dropped, others have taken its place over the years. There was the time he and 50 Cent got into it over a tweet. There was also the time he and Jay-Z supposedly had words due to The Game saying that he would sign with Kanye West's label instead of Def Jam, which is owned by Jay-Z.
Perhaps one of the most high profile instances of The Game getting into a fight was in 2006, when Kanye West allegedly attacked him backstage at the MTV Video Music Awards. Supposedly, the altercation stemmed from The Game dissing West's fiancé, Alexis Phifer. This isn't the only time these two rappers have had issues, either.
In 2015, The Game claimed that West hadn't invited him to his Yeezy presentation at New York Fashion Week. He also alleged that West banned him from his concerts and wouldn't allow him to listen to his new music. Things apparently haven't improved, as The Game referred to West as a "creature" and "clown" in a Twitter rant in September of 2021.
Other people who have reportedly been on the receiving end of The Game's wrath include:
- Freddie Gibbs (2017)
- Soulja Boy (several times, going back to 2008)
- Mike Epps (2014)
- Diddy (2013)
- Tony Yayo (2013)
- Young Jeezy (2012)
- Eminem (2013 and 2013)
- Common (2014)
Keep this rapper in mind as we continue our discussion of famous musicians who fight.
5. Young Thug
Young Thug certainly knows his way around a rap battle, but real fights apparently don't suit him. This becomes evident when you look at the incidents involving Young Thug and Lil Uzi Vert. It all started in February of 2016, when Uzi claimed that Thug was trying to sleep with his girl.
From there, things escalated. Uzi alleged that Thug sent "too far" and threatened people close to him. Things apparently simmered down, as the two musicians were seen together at various times throughout the rest of that year.
In April of 2018, Uzi claimed that Thug had attempted to have him killed. He even went so far as to play what he claimed was a phone call between Thug and the individual Uzi believed would carry out the hit. Of course, Thug denied the allegations.
Although no physical altercations occurred between the two rappers, things took a violent turn in December of that year. During a concert, someone opened fire and Uzi was hit in the leg by a bullet. Thankfully, the injury was not life threatening.
Despite the violence, it would seem that things are still somewhat civil between these musicians, as they collaborated on a track titled "Girls Say Uhi" that was included on Young Thug's 2019 album, "Hot." Whether or not Uzi actually wants any of those girls to say Uhi is unclear, however...
6. Eminem
Eminem has been in the rap game for quite some time now, but that hasn't stopped him from engaging in physical altercations. There were the incidents with Drake, which apparently started in 2012 when Drake alleged that Em dissed him on an album with Rihanna.
Top-Ranked Online Casino App Bonuses (2023) - Don't Miss These! This wasn't the first time Em and Drake had issues, however. There was also the time that Drake said Em's daughter meant "no malice" when he rapped about wanting to harm her.
Things came to a head in 2018, however, when fans believed they saw pictures of Drake getting physically aggressive with Eminem at a party. While neither of the rappers addressed the issue at the time, Eminem brought it up in a song that same year.
Drake never responded to the lyrics, and it would seem that things have calmed down between the two musicians.
That isn't the only time Eminem has been involved in rap beefs that turned physical, either. There was also the time that Mims claimed Em slapped him after Mims allegedly disrespected his then-wife, Kim. Eminem denied the accusations.
7. Jay-Z
Like many rappers who get into fights, Jay-Z has had his share of issues with other musicians. One of the most well-known feuds he was involved in was with Nas. Apparently, there was bad blood between the two entertainers due to Jay-Z's involvement with R&B singer .
At the time, Nas was dating Jones and was less than thrilled about her working with Jay-Z. He even wrote some pretty harsh lyrics about Hov on his 2001 album, "Stillmatic". This prompted Jay-Z to respond with some jabs of his own on his single, "Takeover."
Interestingly enough, the two rappers put their differences aside and were on fairly good terms until 2019, when Nas implied that Jay-Z was involved in the current issues between him and Puff Daddy. There was also the time that Jay-Z allegedly sent goons to beat up Game.

Jay-Z and Kanye West also reportedly had a physical altercation in a SoHo nightclub in 2006. Rumors at the time suggested that the fight was actually between two of West's friends and two of Jay-Z's entourage, but both rappers reportedly left the club shortly after the incident.
It would seem that Jay-Z and West have put their issues behind them, too, although there was that one time Kanye implied that Jay-Z took advice from his wife, Beyonce, instead of him. Still waiting on that "Love Drought" remix, Kanye...
8. Kendrick Lamar
How could we discuss famous musicians who fight without mentioning Kendrick Lamar? Granted, there isn't a long lineup of rappers who have gotten into scuffles with this artist, but there is one instance that stands out.
Remember earlier when we mentioned 6ix9ine's altercation with Tekashi69? Well, it would seem that K-Dot has had issues with a similar sound-alike. In 2016, a rapper named Cold Hart put out a song titled "_cellophan_SEALED,” which sounds awfully similar to Kendrick's "_Untitled 07/cellophane".
Things escalated when Hart released a video that some believed parodied the visuals from K-Dot's song, "HUMBLE.”. Hart vehemently denied this, but that didn't stop a melee from breaking out at a show in Toronto, Ontario in December of that year.
Reports indicate that security had to step in and break up a fight between members of Lamar's team and Hart's crew. Both parties claimed that the other started it.
Best Florida Casinos to Visit 2023 - Hollywood Dog TrackThis wouldn't be the last time Kendrick made an appearance on our rapper fights list. Fast forward to 2021: PGA Tour pro, Rickie Fowler, accused Lamar of stiffing him for $65,000 after Fowler purchased 15 of the rappers' Oceanside Golf Club. Later, Lamar allegedly only paid Fowler back $35,000.
Fowler claimed that he and Lamar had a verbal argument over the matter, but insisted that it didn't devolve into a physical altercation.
9. Drake
We've already touched on a couple of Drake's issues with other rappers, but it seems as if he is quickly becoming known for getting into fights with other hip hop musicians. Of course, none of them have turned physical ...yet. But still ...
As mentioned previously, there was the possible altercation with Eminem, which both parties seemed to downplay. There was also the alleged incident with Pusha T. Remember when King Push dropped the diss track, "The Story of Adidon"?
Well, it turns out that there were rumblings of a physical fight between Drake and 'Ye prior to the album's release. Toronto Maple Leafs star, Nazem Kadri, claimed that he saw Drake get "bouged" by West.
Of course, this was never verified, and Drake and Kanye both seemed to lay their issues to rest at the 2018 NBA Finals. Speaking of the finals, have you been to a casino lately? If so, did you feel safe doing so during the pandemic?
10. Meek Mill
Meek Mill was mentioned earlier due to his involvement with 6ix9ine, but he certainly deserves a spot on our rapper fistfights list all his own. Born Robert Rihmeek Williams in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, this musician has been active in the industry since 2006.
Although there have been several notable incidents involving Mill and other rappers, one of the most infamous occurred in 2012. Chris Brown and Drake reportedly had words at a nightclub in New York City, which prompted Brown to attend a party that Mill was attending.
Obviously, Brown and Mill have a contentious relationship, as evidenced by their social media exchanges. There was also the time Meek claimed that Brown had called him several times. When Meek didn't answer, Brown allegedly had his people harass Meek's women.
Mill didn't let it end there, either. He and Quavvo alleged that Lil Uzi Vert had been fictionally abusing their creative differences. They even went so far as to call Uzi a "buster" and a "snitch" in a freestyle.
Other musicians who have reportedly felt Mill's wrath include:
- Tory Lanez (2020)
- The Game (several times, going back to 2016)
- Beanie Sigel (2014)
- Fabolous (2017)
- Trey Songz (2018)
It would seem that Mill and Brown have settled their differences, however. Keep reading to see who Brown recently got into it with, though...
11. Fabolous
It appears as if Fabolous is another one of those rappers who get into fights frequently. Truth be told, it seems as if the majority of these altercations involve disrespect to family or significant others. Case in point: Fabolosss' situation with Julia Frazier.
Apparently, Fabolous had an issue with Frazier talking to another man. He responded by allegedly attacking her and sharing a video of the incident on his Instagram account. This prompted Cam'ron to come to Frazier's defense.
Cam'ron and Fabolous have had issues in the past, so this likely contributed to the severity of the situation. Before things could be resolved, yet another female was drawn into the drama. Remy Ma came to Cam'ron's aid, and before you know it, she and Fabolous were not on the best of terms.
To make matters worse, Maino got involved and things turned physical. Maino claimed that Fabolous disrespected his wife, which prompted Maino's friend to punch Fabolous. Maino then pushed Fabolos after the fact.
Fabolous never fought back, however. He simply walked away. Unfortunately, this isn't the only time one of this rapper's girlfriends has caused drama...
Emily Bustamante, better known as Emily B, supposedly had some choice words for Fabolous about Trey Songz. This obviously ticked Offset, who is Emily's husband and Trey's friend, so he responded by challenging Fabolous to a fight.
Fabolous supposedly laughed it off and claimed that he and Trey were fine.
12. Chris Brown
We've mentioned Brown several times thus far, so it seems appropriate to give him his own section on our rap fights list. It would be difficult to determine a timeline for the issues Brown has had with other musicians, as it seems as if there is almost a never-ending list of performers who don't like him ... Or vice versa.
For the sake of keeping things organized, however, we'll start with Drake and Trey Songz. Things appeared to go left at a party when Brown allegedly asked Drake to keep Trey off the VIP list. Drake obliged, but Trey showed up anyway.
Things escalated from there, and before you knew it, a fight broke out. Video footage appeared to show Brown getting punched multiple times, but Brown denied that it was him in the video. He later admitted that there was an altercation, but claimed that it had been handled.
Not long after that, Brown and Frank Ocean had an issue. Apparently, Brown was parked in Frank Ocean's spot. When Brown returned to his vehicle and discovered that his passenger side window had been smashed, he alleged that Ocean was responsible.
Ocean denied it, and later released a song called "Good Lovin'" that some people believed contained references to the incident. At this point, it would seem that things have simmered down between Brown and Ocean.
Other musicians who have either gotten into it with Brown or spoken out about him include:
- Royce Da 5'9", who claimed that Brown doesn't write his own lyrics
- Rich Homie Quan, who allegedly had words with Brown over a woman
- ** Soulja Boy**, who apparently dissed Brown on several occasions
- Kevin Gate$, who Brown allegedly threatened after Gatez liked a comment about Brown's daughter
- Tyson Ritter of the band OneRepublic, who claimed that Brown had his people harass Ritter after Brown was removed from OneRepublic's tour
Of course, that's not the end of CB's rapper dustups. Remember earlier when I mentioned 6ix9ine and King Von? Guess who jumped on a remix of ... ? You guessed it ... "Trollz".
13. Tyga
We've already talked about some of Tyga's issues with The Game, so let's touch on some of his other beefs. You may recall earlier when I discussed 6ix9ine's situation with Jimmy Henchman ...
Well, Tyga allegedly testified in court against Henchman. This didn't sit well with French Montana, who has ties to Henchman. Before you know it, there were reports of a fight breaking out at a nightclub in which Tyga and his crew were involved.
This wasn't the first time Tyga and French had issues, however. They apparently had a disagreement over a collaboration with Chris Brown. French claimed that Tyga promised to get C. B. On a track, but allegedly reneged on his commitment.
Tyga denies ever making such a promise, but that didn't stop Brown from responding to French on Twitter. It would seem that Tyga and French have since made amends, as they collaborated on a track together in 2019. The same goes for Tyga and The Game; the two musicians appeared on a song with Young Thug in 2019.
Other musicians who may want to duct tape Tyga to their chairs before a night out include:
- Drake (2015)
- Travis Scott (2017)
- Future (2013)
- Lil Wayne (2015)
- A$AP Rocky (2012)
14. Nicki Minaj
Rounding out our top rappers who get into fights is Nicki Minaj. We've already discussed some of the situations involving Quavo, 6ix9ine, and Remy Ma, but there are others. Another female rapper who has been in the middle of things is Katie Stites.
It seems as if the contention between Stites, Minaj, and Stefflon Don stems back to 2017, when Stefflon was featured on a remix of one of Minaj's songs. At a show in London, England in 2018, there was an apparent altercation between Stites and Minaj's boyfriend, Kenneth Petty.
Things supposedly got so bad that security had to intervene. Undaunted, Stefflon responded with some choice words directed at Minaj on Twitter. Minaj fired back, and the beef between these two female rappers appeared to be in full swing.
Before that could be resolved, however, there was Hennessy Carolina. Yet another female rapper, Carolina supposedly had some negative comments about Nicki that led to a back-and-forth on social media.
Minaj responded by posting a nude picture of Carolina on Instagram. This wasn't the first time Minaj had gotten physical with her phone - remember the fan incident at a concert in 2018? - but it wasn't exactly the outcome she likely hoped for, considering the fact that Carolina is a female rapper herself.
Other musicians who have been in the crosshairs of Nicki's ire include:
- Queen Latifah (2012)
- Remy Ma (2018)
- Mila J (2010)
- Megan Thee Stallion (2020)
- Sza (2018)
Why Do Musicians Get Into Physical Altercations?
Have you ever wondered why so many famous musicians get into fights? It would seem that many of these incidents stem from professional disputes rather than personal animosity. Put simply, many rappers don't like each other because of the music business aspect of the industry.
This explains why many of the rapper fights on our list involve diss tracks, disses on social media, or issues with collaborators or managers. Remember when we talked about 6ix9ine and his Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods affiliation? It would seem that this played a role in his beef with Jim Jenkins, who was Tekashi's own manager at one time.
Speaking of 6ix9ine, do you think he'll make this rapper fistfights list again in the near future? Only time will tell ...
Be Careful Out There, Casino Patrons!
It's unfortunate that so many of our favorite musicians seem plagued by physical altercations, but hopefully this awareness will remind us to tread carefully in our day-to-day lives. Incidents like Tekashi6ix9ine's robbery and altercation in the parking garage of a Halloween party-themed hotel could happen to anyone, especially in less-than-ideal locations like poorly lit pathways. Stay vigilant and try to avoid walking alone in isolated areas, especially at odd hours. Let's hope these conflicts can be resolved peacefully and amicably in the future.
