According to the PA Cir.No: 24/2020 of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Government on the commencement of official duties for 2021, on 01.01.2021, the program commenced at 8.45 am at the Chief Secretary’s Secretariat premises, assembled with the limited officers inclusive Deputy Chief Secretaries,Assistant Secretaries, Administrative Officers and Staff Grade officers and three officers, represented each cluster units of Chief Secretary’s Secretariat.
The national flag and the provincial flag were hoisted by the Chief Secretary Mr. A.Pathinathan and the Secretary, Ministry of Local Government Mr. R.Varatheeswaran respectively and the national anthem was sung. With the observation of two minutes silence by the participants, oath in Tamil language was vowed by Mr.R.Umakanthan, DCS Planning, repeated by the participated officers.
Then, Dr.K.Kesavan, Consultant & Community Physician briefed about the current crisis of COVID –19 and the responsibilities of each and every public In the society, implementing actions on control of this viral spreading.
Eventually. Chief Secretary delivered the speech based on the declaration of government policy, themed on Vistas of Prosperity and Splendor.
The event was concluded with issue of refreshment at 9.30 am.
