சின்னவெங்காயச் செய்கையை மேற்கொள்வதால் விவசாயிகள் குறுகிய காலத்தில் அதிக வருமானத்தை ஈட்டிக்கொள்கின்றார்கள். சீரற்ற காலநிலை நிலவும் போது வெங்காயச் செய்கையானது பெரிதும் பாதிக்கப்படுவதால் விதை வெங்காயத்திற்கு உச்ச விலையுடன் தட்டுப்பாடான நிலையும் ஏற்படுகிறது. விவசாயிகளால் பயிரிடப்படும் வேதாள வெங்காய இனங்கள்; காலபோகத்தில் சிறப்பாக பூக்கும் தன்மையுடையவை. தற்போது COON-5 எனும் இனம் அறிமுகம் செய்யப்பட்டு உண்மை விதை உற்பத்தி மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டு வருகின்றது. வெங்காய உற்பத்திச் செலவில் 65 வீதத்திற்கு மேலான செலவு விதை வெங்காயத்தைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்வதிலேயே ஏற்படுகின்றது.;

வடமாகாண ஆளுநர் அவர்களின் பணிப்பின் பேரில் வடமாகாண விவசாயத் திணைக்களமானது மாகாண கட்டடங்கள் திணைக்களத்தின் ஒத்துழைப்போடு காலநிலைக்கு சீரமைவான நீர்ப்பாசன விவசாய திட்டத்தின் (CSIAP) கீழ் உலக வங்கியின் நிதி அனுசரணையுடன் முல்லைத்தீவு மாவட்டத்தில் பெரிய அளவிலான தானியக் களஞ்சியசாலை கட்டமைப்பதற்கான பணிகளை முன்னெடுத்துள்ளது. அந்தவகையில் முல்லைத்தீவு மாவட்டத்தில் அமையவுள்ள தானியக் களஞ்சியமானது ஒட்டுசுட்டான் பிரதேச செயலர் பிரிவில் மாங்குளம் முல்லைத்தீவு பிரதான வீதியில் கருவேலங்கண்டல் கிராமத்தில் வீதியை அண்மித்ததாக நிர்மாணிக்கப்படவுள்ளது. குறித்த பகுதியில் காணப்பட்ட 3
