Casinos worth the road trip from williamsburg va

  • Virginia law prohibits commercial casinos, but there are some tribal casinos within driving distance of Williamsburg.
  • The closest casino is just over an hour away in South Carolina at the Cherokee Creek Casino & Resort.
  • Another option is the Catawba Creek Casino in North Carolina, standing at just under two hours from Williamsburg.

As much as I would love to say that there are world-class casinos right around the corner from Williamsburg, Virginia, that’s simply not the case.

You might be disappointed to learn that there are no casinos of any kind in the state of Virginia.

Gambling laws in VA are still a little behind the times, but there has been some recent progress with the legalization of historical horse racing machines and sports betting.

So it’s possible we could see casinos make their way into the commonwealth one day. But for now, I’d look to head into neighboring states if you can’t resist a spot of gambling.

Today, I want to take you through some of the options when it comes to casinos worth the road trip from Williamsburg, Virginia. Let’s get to it!
