A mobile service was organized by the Northern Provincial Council in collaboration with District Secretariat, Mullaitivu on 01 December 2015 at Mullaitivu Maha Vidyalayam in Maritimepattu Divisional Secretariat Division to seek solution to the public’s problem. It was organized under the guidance and chairmanship of Chief Minister Justice C.V.Wigneswaran.
The Chief Minister’s Ministry has built a few houses within the allocations received from Finance Commission, Colombo since 2013 for the war affected vulnerable families who does not receive any housing assistance from other sources. Under the directions of Chief Minister Justice C.V .Wigneswaran, beneficiaries were selected and a sum of rupees six lacks are being provided in phases to built their houses in this year 2015.
Under the World Bank(W.B.) funded “Sri Lanka strategic city development project (SCDP)” , Jaffna city will improve its selected urban services and public urban spaces with the additional financing to the ongoing SCDP in city –regions of Sri Lanka (in Kandy and Galle) . Jaffna city development Project’s objective is to redevelop the Jaffna city area with strategic thinking and planning and deliver “fast – track” results, and at the meantime, pave the way for future interventions and investments.
A newly built Free Ayurvedic Hospital at Ithavil in Palai was declared open by the Chief Minister Justice C.V.Wigneswaran on 23 November 2015. This hospital was constructed by the Pachchilaipalli Pradeshiya Sabah.
The US Ambassador to the United Nations - Samantha Power, U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka and Maldives in Sri Lanka - Atul Keshap, Deputy Assistant Administrator in the Asia Bureau of the U.S. Agency for International Development - Manpreet Singh Anand and other US officials visited to Jaffna and had discussions with Chief Minister of Northern Provincial Council Justice C.V.Wigneswaran and Northern Provincial Council Ministers at Chief Minister’s Secretariat on 22nd November 2015.
