Jaffna Old Park is to be converted to Adventure Park – 29 May 2014

“Jaffna Old Park has been a historical & traditional land mark for the people of this province. This will definitely turn out to be a tourist attraction as well.”

Under the guidance of Governor of the Northern Province GA Chandrasiri, Jaffna Old Park is to be converted to Adventure Park. A ceremony in this regard was held at Jaffna Old Park on 29th May 2014.

Parliamentarian Namal and Governor visit Vattapalai Kannakai Amman Kovil – 26 May 2014

Vatrrapalai Amman kovil is one of oldest and strongest hindu temple in this country. The devotees believe that miracles take place in this kovil - it is said to have the power of lighting lamps, not with oil, but with sea water. Every year, on the second Thursday of June, which is known as 'Vaikasi Matham Visaham Puranei', Tamils light lamps with sea water. The pongal ceremony takes place the next day when the devotees cook milk-rice in the kovil premises at night.”
