The new Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs, Sports & Youth Affairs of the Northern Province Mr. R. Raveenthiran assumed duties today on 27th of April, 2015 and he is a senior officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS) having much experience in the field of Public Administration.
The Provincial Education Development meeting was held on 02nd May 2014 at 9.30 a.m at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs, Sports & Youth Affairs, NP. Mr. S. Sathiyaseelan, Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs, Sports & Youth Affairs of the Northern Province preside the meeting.
“Northern province has seen a rapid development and prosperity in education sector in the recent past. The recent results of public examination have justified these facts.Tamils have a tradition of giving more importance to education since their childhood.There is no doubt, these new buildings and infrastructures will help to improve the education standards of the province further.”
“Education is essential for everyone. It is the level of education that helps people earn respect and recognition. In my opinion, it is indispensable part of life both personally and socially. However, the unequal standard of education is still a major problem that needs to be solved.Mahintha Chinthanaya has given better solution to this.

The Education Development meeting of the Zonal Education Office, Jaffna was held on 07th March 2014 at 9.30 a.m at the Management Hall of the Zonal Education, Jaffna with the facilitation of Hon. T. Gurukularasa, Minister of Education, Cultural Affairs, Sports & Youth Affairs of the Northern Province, Hon. S. Sritharan, Member of Parliament and Hon. Ayoop Asmin, Member of Northern Provincial Council.
