Statue of Nelson Mandela in Jaffna
Ambassador of South Africa to Sri Lanka Robina Marks visited Jaffna and met Governor Reginald Cooray at his office on 08th March 2018.
They discussed the development activities as well as religious reconciliation activities. The Ambassador requested the Governor to erect a statue of Nelson Mandela, Political Leader of South Africa, in Jaffna.
She explained that Nelson Mandela is seen by the world's people as a sign of peace therefore all the people of the country would accept it.
Robina Mark also requested that a delegation representing all ethnic groups living in Sri Lanka should visit to South Africa to learn the living conditions of the people of the country and bring the message of peace to the people of Sri Lanka.
