Indigenous Arts Competition 2014 held in Mullaitivu – 18th April 2014

“Traditional art is an asset to the country. Specially a competition to promote traditional art is the need of the hour.In that context, Northern Province set an example to other provinces in promoting rare art culture and practices.”


The second phase of the above competition commenced on 18.04.2014 at Mullaittivu Vidyananda College. Govt. Agent of Mullaitivu District N.Vethanayagam inaugurated the competition.
Two panels of judges officiated. Prof. S. Mownaguru, Dr.K.Shriganeshan and Mr.Mohanathas juged the koothu and koothu – based dance while Dr.T.Kalamani, Mr. and Mrs. Pathmanathan judged the musical Drama.


At the end of the day, the results were announced. The panel of judges gave a feedback to the participating manrams. They also gave the winners suggestions to improve their productions for the Provincial level.
